One Small Victory TrakZilla.tv Radio Almost Ready For Launch
I listen to a bunch of podcasts on my iPhone at work. Halfway through the night last night I was searching for another one to listen to. As i whipped through my list using my finger, I paused and scrolled back up. I thought, "What is that?" and clicked on it. The words "Northern Kentucky Rap" had caught my attention. When I clicked through I saw the episode name for the podcast. Rokamic Beatz - Level Up. Thats my beat. And then it hit me. This is my test song for my Podcast Radio feed I was setting up. I was shocked. It caught be by surprise. I had been working non stop for days to get my automatic podcasting mechanism on my website working. The thought had never occured to me that the next time synced my iPhone the podcast would get synced also. Yet that is whole purpose for doing this podcast. So that people can automatically get the local hip hop and rap music delivered directly to there mp3 players. I feel amazed everytime I witness an idea of mine become reality.
One small victory in a series of trial and error.

DJ Jazzy Jeff Booted from Venue for Hip-Hop Selections
DJ Jazzy Jeff received a professional insult last Saturday (June 6) in Kansas City when a venue cut short his set for playing Hip-Hop music.
The Power & Light District has been lightning rod of controversy in recent months due to accusations of racism from black constituents.
Critics allege the entertainment district deliberately shuns any Hip-Hop themed elements for fear of attracting gang activity and violence.
Jazzy Jeff and rapper Skillz arrived at the venue as part of the ongoing Bacardi B-Live Tour.
Thirty minutes into their set and in the middle of a NeYo song, officials advised the duo the set was being shut down.
"My road manager walked up to me and said they were having problems with the music I was playing. I played three more songs and he comes back. I knew something was wrong,” Jazzy Jeff explained to the Kansas City Star. “They said I had to kick Skillz off the stage, change the format of the music I was playing or quit. They said if I continued playing they had 30 cops ready to come escort me off stage. So I stopped."
This was Jazzy Jeff’s first performance in Kansas City. For over 20 years, the acclaimed DJ has been highly sought after internationally for his legendary all-night party sets.
According to Jeff, he was instructed to play Top 40 hits, and was accommodating that request before officials ended the set.

Something Else
Feels like I'm losin it, I don't know what's goin' on/
one day it's takin care of, the next day I can't bear it/
next I'm embarassed, my confidence has vanished/
and I'm having dreams where demons are speakin to me in spanish/
lookin in the mirror, my reflections takin shots at me/
and I know my mediocrity is my hypocrisy/
move robotically... my humanity has left me/
right handed grip buy it feels like I'm swinging lefty/
I know it's complicated how i choose to illustrate it/
but fear has facilitated a form that is debilitated/
I'm feelin' faded, the self loathing is my thirst quencher/
first flincher is rarely ever gonna be purse clencher/
his first venture immediately alerts censors/
to barricade the borders and black ball all his adventures/
confusing delusions must be caused by contusions/
or his logic and reason fusion is no longer included/

Inventing A Cutting Edge Music Distribution System
So, you put five of your tracks on myspace. You have five oppurtunities for someone to find your music. Weigh that against the colassol amount of new music uploaded to myspace every hour. Your five tracks will easily be swallowed up by all that noise. So what do you do?
- Release new tracks on a regular basis. I suggest once or twice weekly at least.
- Look beyond myspace and facebook and put your music on other social networks, some solely based on music fans and artists.
- Keep at it and stay on top of new social networks because that is where markets experience the most growth. [see graphic below]
Development has begun on The TrakZilla Distribution system. This
version will run natively on my laptop, almost zero intagration with
the website. Version 2 will be fully intregrated into the website.
The theory behind this system is that most music listeners in the
relavent age groups find thier new music on social networks. A study by Olswang found that three fourths of people on myspace use the social network to discover new music. [see graphic below]
